Meny Plan "Monday" - Week of January 5, 2014

Our Christmas morning "brunch" - after church and opening gifts.
Is anyone else a bit freaked out by writing "2014"?  I'm not sure I'm ready for this!

We are in a period of eating leftovers - lots of leftovers!  My husband celebrated his 40th birthday on Friday last week and since we didn't know who of my in-laws was coming we bought way too much food!  Then we hosted a 12 Days of Christmas party on Sunday night and had leftovers of some things (mostly salads) from that.   So leftovers have been the name of the game around here and probably will be all week.

We were totally spoiled by my parents buying us groceries twice while they were here as well as some of the food for the 12 Days of Christmas party.  We're back to our "normal" grocery budget - in fact we're cutting it even further - but I'll write about that with shopping on Saturday this week (Lord willing, of course!).   The children were home from school Monday and Tuesday due to well below zero highs for temperatures (our high on Monday as -14F..that's actual temperature, wind chill is even lower!), so we had lunch at home for three of us those days.

Here's what we're eating this week:
